  1. Former USC Running Backs Coach John Jackson Dies
    John Jackson, who was the running backs coach for tailbacks Marcus Allen and Charles White during their Heisman Trophy-winning seasons at USC, died on Thursday (Feb. 16) in Torrance, Calif., of complications following intestinal surgery. He was 81.
  2. Mike Walden, Former Broadcast Voice Of USC, Dies
    Mike Walden, a noted local radio and television sportscaster who was the play-by-play broadcast voice of USC football and men’s basketball from 1966 to 1972 and then called UCLA sports for parts of 18 years, died on Sunday (Feb. 12) in Tarzana, Calif., from complications of a stroke. He was 89.
  3. USC Football Coaches Clinic Set For March 31-April 1
    The USC Football Coaches Clinic, featuring head coach Clay Helton of the Rose Bowl champion Trojans along with his entire coaching staff and guest speakers, will be held March 31 and April 1 in the John McKay Center on the USC campus.
  4. USC Football Announces 2017 Signing Class
    Eighteen high school football players signed letters of intent with defending Rose Bowl champion USC today (Feb. 1) and will join the Trojan program in the fall, USC head coach Clay Helton announced. They are part of a 23-member signing class that includes 5 other players who already enrolled at USC in January and will participate in the upcoming spring practice. Many recruiting media outlets ranked USC’s class in the national Top 5 (tops in the Pac-12), including,, and Fourteen players in USC’s signing class are listed among the ESPN 300, including six in the top 100.
  5. Former USC Punter Marty King Dies
    Marty King, a record-setting All-Pac-10 punter on USC’s 1978 national championship football team, died on Jan. 14 in San Francisco, Calif., of cardiac disease. He was 60.
